Terms of service

Last updated 12 October 2026

The short version

  • Using ASHmod means agreeing to these terms. The privacy policy explains what happens to your data.
  • It's a self-help educational tool for adults, used at your own risk — not medical care, and not for emergencies.
  • Part One is free. The rest of the program is a monthly subscription you can cancel at any time.
  • What you write belongs to you, and stays private to your account.

Using ASHmod

These terms are the agreement between you and ASHmod. They cover your account, the free part of the program, and the monthly subscription.

By creating an account you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use the app.

Our privacy policy sits alongside these terms and explains what happens to what you write. Where the two overlap, the privacy policy governs your data.

Who can use it

  • You need to be 18 or over. The program is written for adults.
  • One account per person. Please don't share your login or let someone else use your account.
  • Give us an email address you actually read — it's how verification codes, password resets and payment receipts reach you.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens through your account.

It isn't medical care

ASHmod is a self-help educational tool. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition, and no clinician reads what you write or follows your progress. There is no therapist on the other end of this.

It supports but doesn't replace care from a qualified professional. If you're already working with a doctor or therapist, these modules are meant to sit alongside that work, not instead of it.

It isn't for emergencies. If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, use the crisis support page — in the US you can call or text 988 — rather than waiting for a reply from us.

What you get, free and paid

  • Part One — Foundations — is free. You can work through it without paying anything.
  • The rest of the program needs an active subscription, billed monthly. The price is shown on the landing page and again on the checkout page before you pay.
  • Everything is self-paced. There's no schedule to fall behind on, and nothing expires while your subscription is active.
  • If the price changes, we'll tell you before it takes effect at your next renewal, and you can cancel first.

Billing and cancelling

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel. Payment is handled by Base44 Payments; we never see or store your card details.

You can cancel at any time from the Account page. It takes effect immediately — no phone call, no email, no questions.

  • When you cancel, access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for, and then stops.
  • We don't refund a period that's already running, because access to the program is immediate. If a charge went wrong — a duplicate, or a renewal you cancelled in time — write to us and we'll put it right.
  • If a payment fails, we may pause access until it's settled. Nothing you've written is deleted.
  • Cancelling doesn't delete your account or your entries. Ask us separately if you want those removed.

What you write

Your check-ins, reflections and assessment answers belong to you. They're private to your account — no coach, therapist or group can read them, and we don't review them.

You're responsible for what you put in. Please don't use the app to store anyone else's personal information, or anything unlawful.

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it, at any time. The privacy policy explains how.

Using it fairly

Your subscription is for you, personally.

  • Don't share your account, or resell or lend access to the program.
  • Don't copy, record, republish or redistribute the modules, audio or exercises, or use them to build something else.
  • Don't scrape the app, work around the subscription to reach paid content, or interfere with how it runs.
  • If someone breaks these terms in a serious way, we may suspend or close the account.

Our content

The modules, exercises, guided audio recordings and written material in ASHmod belong to ASHmod. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own self-help while your account is in good standing — nothing more than that.

That licence ends if your account is closed. It doesn't take back anything you learned.

Availability and changes

We work to keep ASHmod running, but we can't promise it will always be available. Things break, and sometimes we need to take the app down for maintenance.

We may add, change or retire parts of the program. If a change meaningfully reduces what you're paying for, we'll tell you before your next renewal.

It's provided as it is

ASHmod is provided as it is and as it's available. We don't promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, and we don't promise that it will reduce, fix or cure any symptom, condition or difficulty you're experiencing.

We don't promise that the material suits your particular situation. Only a qualified professional who has assessed you can advise on your care, and nothing here is tailored to you as an individual.

You use it at your own risk

Deciding to work through a self-help program — and deciding when to seek professional help instead — is your decision. You use ASHmod on that basis and accept the risk that comes with it.

Please don't put off seeking professional advice because of anything you read here, and don't stop or change any treatment you're already receiving because of it.

Don't listen to the guided audio while driving or operating machinery. The relaxation and breathing practices are meant for somewhere you can safely close your eyes.

Limits on our responsibility

To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for loss or damage arising from your use of ASHmod — including indirect or consequential losses such as lost time, lost earnings or lost opportunity — whether a claim is brought in contract, in negligence, or on any other basis.

Our total responsibility to you, on any basis, is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. If you've paid us nothing, that limit is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our responsibility where doing so would be unlawful — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer, and nothing here is meant to discourage you from seeking medical care.

Closing your account

You can stop using ASHmod and ask us to delete your account whenever you like.

We may close an account if these terms are broken in a serious way, or if we're required to. Where it's reasonable to, we'll tell you why and give you the chance to put it right.

If your account closes, the parts of these terms that still make sense afterwards — our content, and the limits on our responsibility — stay in force.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email before they take effect.

If you keep using ASHmod after a change takes effect, that counts as accepting it. If you don't agree, you can cancel and stop using the app.
